Wedding Info & FAQ

First of all, why should you book me as your wedding photographer?

I know it is overwhelming to choose a photographer, the market is saturated, so how to decide? Obviously you need to like my work but that’s not enough, right? There are probably many photographers on your list you like. Also a photographer is the vendor you spend the most time with on your wedding day, so it’s really not only about the final outcome, it is about connection, trust, and feeling comfortable with each other.

Maybe first let’s see what my previous clients had to say about me:

‘’Monika was so friendly, bubbly, relaxed and fun but also kept the day on track and got the photos that we wanted. We are so grateful that she was part of our day. We would highly recommend Monika as a wedding photographer’’ ~Finn & Amy~

‘’I would rate Monika 5+++++++ stars if I could, not only was her communication amazing, she delivered photos that were truly incredible. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our big day. She went above and beyond for us, being so accommodating to our two young kids and so patient with our crazy bridal party!! I’ll definitely be recommending Monika to all our friends and family.’’ ~Kate&Christian~

‘’Monika was so amazing! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding! She was really great at communicating, showed up on time, took lots of beautiful photos, and was such a nice and fun person to work with. The photos are beautiful, and I'm so happy with all of them:)’’ ~Hayley&Rhys~

I would add that:

I am a highly organised person. A few of my clients told me that they felt like they hired a photographer and a wedding coordinator all in one! I will keep an eye on the time during the day to make sure we are on track. The last thing I want you to worry about is time. Timeline and photography is my job. You can relax.

I do care! I know how much effort goes into your wedding planning, I always try my best to help during the planning process, throughout the wedding day, and of course, lots of love goes into post-processing your photos.

I give it my best…always

Ok, maybe you are convinced that I am the right fit for you, so how does the booking process work?

Step 1. Say hi & let me know the date, location, and how many hours you wish to have captured. I will check my availability and get back to you as soon as possible.

Step 2. Let’s start planning your big day! We discuss wedding details, your vision, and expectations via email, call, or in person.

I am here for you to help with the timeline, providing useful tips, suggesting locations and overall wedding planning assistance.

Step 3. Booking my services. Time for formalities like signing a wedding agreement and paying a small deposit to secure the date.

Step 4. Enjoy your wedding day, and let me capture all the important moments.

Step 5. You can expect a few sneak peek photos a few days after your wedding and a full gallery within 6-8 weeks of the wedding day.

You might have some additional questions like:

Will you travel to our wedding?

Absolutely!  Travel is free within 50km of Napier. Travel fee applies for locations outside of Hawke's Bay. I charge only the necessary cost to cover my fuel/flight and accommodation (if needed). I am always keen to travel, get in touch, we can work something out :)

Do I need to pay a deposit?

I require a 20% deposit to confirm your booking. The final balance is due two weeks before your wedding.

Is there a second shooter? Why should I consider a second shooter?

A second shooter can be arranged for an additional cost. I can - and I usually do capture the whole day on my own, but I can’t be everywhere at the same time, and that’s when a second shooter comes in handy, different angles, more candid photos…I would definitely recommend a second photographer if you expect a larger number of guests, 170+.

How soon should we expect to see the photos?

You can expect a few sneak peek photos a few days after your wedding and a full gallery within 6-8 weeks of wedding day.

How many photographs do you deliver?

I average 50 edited photos per hour. That means for an 8-hour wedding, you will receive a minimum of 400 edited high-resolution photos delivered via online gallery.

Do you provide all the images you have taken?

Sorry, guys, I know you want to see all the photos, but I carefully select the best images and hand-edit them. The unedited RAW photos don’t fully represent my work therefore, I provide only edited photographs.

We are camera-shy, is that ok?

Don’t worry, I will guide you and give you simple directions. Trust me, no one likes to be in front of the camera. Look at the photos I have taken - people looking pretty natural, don’t they? :)
